I didn’t always enjoy traveling, but I have come to really love the process of exploring new places.. However, to be honest, there are still certain aspects of travel I still am not fond of… like living out of a suitcase and leaving the conveniences of my life. But travel has definitely grown me personally and professionally in ways I could’ve never imagined.
Travel Makes Me Flexible
When you don’t have access to your car, home, or your everyday belongings, you are forced to adapt. Whenever we travel whether for leisure or work, we try to be as minimal as possible. When we don’t have a cabinet full of supplies or a shelf full of lenses to choose from you have to make do with what you have. And in the case that you absolutely need something, you can typically find a place to purchase essentials. By traveling often, we have come to love the idea of having and using less which allows us to experience more.
Traveling also forces you to change your time tables and commuting behaviors. There are so many times we’ve missed or got on the wrong trains altering our entire day, but by learning to be nimble and resourceful, you can still get where you need to go.
travel is delicious
Deliciousness can be found in every nook and cranny of the world. Without traveling, we only get a small glimpse into an ever-evolving, global flavor palette. There are ingredients and spices that only grow in select places on our planet and those are some of the things we seek out when we travel. I love experiencing textures and tastes so foreign to what I eat everyday. Whether it’s whale, alligator or cajon crawfish, I absolutely love eating my way through every new city I visit.
travel sparks joy
For as many mistakes and mishaps that come with traveling to foreign places, I can say that when I get to travel with the people who mean the most to me, it’s one of my favorite things to do on earth. It just brings me joy to see new sights, experience new things and capture as much of it as I can!travel sparks joy
