ThinkTank Travel Packs

Traveling with lots of gear for work is always tricky… but for years, I’ve relied heavily on backpacks and rollers to get all my primary kit into a carry-on sized packs. These days we often travel with two Red Camera systems, one hybrid stills camera body (Sony A7iii) 4-5 Canon EF mount lenses and up to 3 155wh V-Mount batteries.
Other peripherals that I have to sneak into the back are a Red tool, camera media, SSD drives (2) for back up, a 15″ MacBook Pro, headphones, a Rode VideoMic Pro Plus and sometimes a Zoom F4 audio recorder and a Rode wired lavaliere mic.

The primary reason we need to pack everything up into a carry-on is to avoid any damage to the camera system or lenses. Also Lithium Ion batteries cannot be checked in, so those all need to travel on our person and there is a limit of 3 Lithium Ion batteries (over 100 wh) allowed per person in your carry-on. (More info here)

I’m able to keep all my gear safe, sound and fitting in overhead compartments in one of two ThinkTank packs.

I absolutely need to be able to toss my back on my back when traveling via train, going up and down stairs, or simply getting it off the ground in the rain. Both backpacks have been amazingly durable, travel extremely well and operate like they did when I first bought them.

Bags are one of those personal items that you rely on to keep your gear safe and organized and my ThinkTank gear is never let me down.
