As a kid, I looked forward to every birthday because it usually meant presents, cake and a party. Today, getting older might be a little less exciting for me, but my desire to celebrate with family is just a strong as ever before.

Today, we celebrated my mom’s birthday with a very simple yet memorable dinner at Rinka in Ward Village. Japanese food has always been our family’s go to dine-out meal, so Rinka was an easy choice.

We had a delicious time and can’t wait to do it again.
