Big Island for the day

Yesterday we started out with another 5am wake up call to get ready for a day-trip to the Big Island.  This is likely the last day of production for a project we’ve been working on for a couple of months, so it’s exciting to think that production may be wrapped on this one.

Most of the storyline and b-roll have already been shot, but we needed a few key moments and visuals we could only find on Hawaii, so we arrived on island by 8am, rented a car and began the day.  We picked up our talent, grabbed a quick bite to eat, and we were off to our first location.

It was a beautiful morning to shoot along the coastline and explore an island that we rarely get to visit. Having someone from Hawaii Island guide us to some secret spots was extremely helpful and such a time savings.

By the time we returned to Oahu, it was 9:30pm resulting a really long, tiring and sun-burnt day… but we were able to capture everything we needed in a single day of production.  Now that this production is wrapped, we are jamming on the edit and simultaneously prepping gear and shot lists for trip next week to Kanazawa, Japan!
