Boling BL-P1: Lighting the way to better vlogs!

How many times have you borrowed someone’s phone flash to light a plate of food or friend’s face while you snap a quick pic?

Lighting is one of the biggest shortcomings of casual, everyday photography. The best way to improve those photos is to learn about lighting.  Good lighting is more than just about adding more light, it’s about understanding color, depth, texture as well as brightness… and the most common way to combat that is an on-camera flash.  Not because it’s the best tool, but because often it’s the only light you have with you.

Flashes directly in front of a subject often result in flat and unflattering photos, but moving your light source off to the side, from a higher vantage point or from behind your subject, you can capture a much more dynamic image.  Having an external light source allows you the flexibility to move your light and shape your object with the best color and intensity for beautiful results.

I’ve been looking for something I could bring on vacations, to family dinners and add some fill for my travel vlogs over a few years, and this is the best product I’ve found thus far.  There is a built-in battery, rechargeable by USB-C cable, a variable color spectrum ranging from Daylight to Tungsten and the full RGB spectrum and also includes features to mimic candle light, TV flickers, police sirens and more for the filmmakers out there.  It is about the same size an iPhone 8 Plus or Samsung Galaxy Note meaning it can slide in your pocket or purse for everyday carry.

There are tons of lights out there with similar functions and features, but this is the first I’ve found with many similar features, but none that I’ve found at this size and price point.  If you could use a portable light, the Boling BL-P1 RGB LED Light is definitely worth a look.
